     In 2006, the MIDengue technology was awarded the “Tech Museum Awards,” one of the largest world awards for innovations in the area of health for the benefit of humanity. The host of the event, Bill Gates, president of Microsoft, met in person with the Ecovec stand and learned about the technology to monitor the dengue vector. In his speech, Gates quoted MI-Dengue as an example of innovation and stated that “the technology doesn’t need to be complex and with a high cost. There lies the beauty of this technology”.
